TOTALENERGIES GRAN FONDO PICO DE LAS NIEVES
Article 1 - EVENT and ORGANISATION
The TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de las Nieves 2023 is a CYCLE SPORT event in accordance with the Specific Instruction for Cycle Tourism Road Rides of the General Directorate of Traffic.
It is promoted by the Ilustre Ayuntamiento de Telde and the company DG Eventos S.L., which is in charge of its management and production.
The TotalEnergies Gran Fondo de las Nieves 2023 is a UCI event, under the aegis of the International Cycling Union. It is also part of the TotalEnergies Challenge circuit.
Article 2.- PLACE AND DATE
The event will take place on 3 December with the Plaza de San Juan in the municipality of Telde as the centre of operations and the starting and finishing point.
The start time for the Gran Fondo and Starter categories will be at 09:00h and participants must be at the start of the stage in good time to receive the briefing prior to the start of the stage. Once the peloton has passed through Telde again after finishing the first timed section, the Advanced category will start.
Article 3.- TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
The event consists of 3 distances:

As this is a cycle-sport event at all distances, cyclists will always ride in the right-hand lane of traffic and in a bubble of no more than 2 km in the non-timed sections of open traffic in the opposite direction.
The timed sections will take place with the road completely closed to traffic, but caution and driving on the right-hand side of the road is always recommended, especially on the downhill sections with no visibility.

The organisation reserves the right to modify everything related to itineraries, kilometres, timetables... when justified reasons or circumstances so require.
*Once at the finish line, the bib number will be removed from the participant's bicycle and will be given in hand for use in the post-finish. All participants in the Gran Fondo category must descend on their own and respecting traffic regulations to the Plaza de San Juan in Telde.
Article 4.- CUTT-OFF TIMES AND ABANDONS
The organisation reserves the right to force the participant to abandon the race:
Whenever the participant shows signs of extreme fatigue, dehydration, extremely slow pace or presents any abnormal symptoms that prevent him/her from participating normally.
If the participant breaches any of the rules governing these regulations (see section on disqualifications).
Once the regulatory cut-off time from the start of the race has elapsed.
There is a maximum time limit for the completion of 3 sections in the Gran Fondo Pico de Las Nieves. If this limit is exceeded, the cyclist must abandon the race or continue under his/her own responsibility, handing over the bib to a member of the organisation.
Article 5.- PARTICIPATION
The event is open to participants of any nationality, federated or not, over 18 years of age (born until 2005) for the Gran Fondo Pico de Las Nieves distance, and they must be correctly registered in due time and form as specified in these regulations.
Cyclists in the Youth category according to the Cycling Federation (born in 2005 and 2006) may participate in the Starter distance and in the Advanced distance, only under parental authorisation or legal guardian of the minor, filled in the registration platform.
Cyclists in the Cadet category according to the Cycling Federation (born in 2007 and 2008) will be able to participate in the Starter distance, only under parental authorisation or legal guardian of the minor, filled in the registration platform.
Each cyclist participates in the race at his/her own risk and declares that he/she is in sufficient physical condition to complete the race.
It is not permitted to include any cyclist who is not duly registered, or accompanying persons, or informers or journalists who are not accredited.
5.1.- Participation with electric bicycles
The use of electric bicycles is permitted under the following conditions:
The bicycle must be a "pedelec". A "pedelec" is considered to be a bicycle that is assisted by the electric motor only if the pedals are used.
There is no limitation on engine power or battery capacity.
The use of 2 or more batteries is allowed.
The cyclist with an e-bike may not help other cyclists with traditional bicycles to get around, nor may he/she serve as a shelter for them. In the event that this is detected by the organisers, the times of the cyclists involved will not be taken and may be grounds for disqualification.
They will have to respect the cut-off times established for the rest of the cyclists and will have a category with an independent classification.
5.2.- Team cars
There is the possibility to follow the race with a team car in the organisation's caravan. This can be requested by all teams with a minimum of 5 participants in the race. Always under the supervision of the race director and the security team.
Article 6.- MANDATORY EQUIPMENT
The use of an approved helmet and appropriate clothing is compulsory, and any participant who does not comply with this article in particular must abandon the race.
The chip-bib number provided by the organisation on the day of picking up the bib must be visible on the front of the bike attached to the handlebars of the bike for its correct reading. Once you have reached each finish line, the bib number will be cut off the handlebars and given to the participant for use in the post-meta located in the Plaza de San Juan.
It is not allowed to participate with the bib of another participant under any circumstances, nor to manipulate it.
It is recommended that cyclists carry enough energy bars, gels or other recovery products for intense efforts in order to avoid fatigue.
Article 7.- REGISTRATION

At the offices of DG Eventos (calle Bravo Murillo, 17 - Local 4. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria). From Monday to Thursday, from 09:00h to 14:00h and from 15:00h to 17:00h, as well as Fridays from 09:00h to 14:00h.
Article 8.- REGISTRATION PRICE
The registration fees vary according to the distance and the registration section according to the following table:

At the time of registration, all participants will have the option of taking out cancellation insurance. The cost of this insurance is €10 and by taking it out, participants will be able to request a refund of the registration fee until 12 November at 23:59.
Once the registration has been completed, no refund of the race fee will be made for any reason whatsoever. Likewise, it is not permitted to change the ownership of the registration.
Article 9.- COLLECTION OF BAGS AND BIB NUMBER
The delivery of bibs and participant's bag will take place:
In order to collect the bibs, it will be necessary to present the federative licence in the case of federated participants and the DNI in the case of non-federated participants. To pick up the bib of another participant, the person in charge must present his/her ID card together with the signed authorisation (download authorisation here) and a copy of the ID card of the participant concerned.
Article 10.- PRIZES AND TROPHIES
Presentation of Medal Finisher for each participant who finishes the race in the three categories at each of the finishing points. These medals will be awarded at the end of each category, the Starter in Telde, the Advanced in La Pasadilla and the Gran Fondo Pico de las Nieves at the Pico de las Nieves itself.
Awards and Trophies for the first three in each category and the first three in each category in the Gran Fondo category, at the Ermita de San Pedro Mártir in Telde once the event has finished, at approximately 16:00h.

There will be a general classification of the mountain for the participants of the Gran Fondo Pico de Las Nieves modality, with finish in the 4 mountain passes that we will have and with the following scoring system:

For classification purposes, the following categories are considered, divided into male and female genders, the categories will be the same as those imposed by the Canary Islands Cycling Federation (according to year of birth):

The general and category classifications will be governed by the sum of the times of each of the timed sections that make up the distance in which they participate, the order of classification being the shortest time taken to complete the distance.
To qualify for the classification and prizes for the first 3 in each category, at least 6 participants from each modality must take part; if not, they will be included in the next higher category.
Article 11.- PARTICIPANT SERVICES
PARTICIPANT'S BAG. It includes the official race jersey for those registered in the Gran Fondo Pico de las Nieves category (sizes available while stocks last) and gifts from collaborating organisations.
SUPPLIERS ON THE ROUTE AND AT THE FINISH: liquid and solid refreshment posts at the kilometre markers established by the organisers and at the finish line.
CLOAKROOM: cloakroom service in Telde.
TOILETS in Telde and some refreshment posts.
WORKSHOP SERVICE at the start of each stage, support on the route and finish line.
MEDICAL SERVICES AND FIRST AID: medical assistance service along the route and hospital at the finish line.
MEDICAL INSURANCE: the organisation will take out a sports accident insurance for each of the participants in the race.
SECURITY DURING THE ROUTE guaranteed by motorbike liaison, Guardia Civil, vehicles for opening and closing the race, volunteers, etc.
Article 12.- AVITUALLMENTS AND REAGRUPTIONS
The organisers reserve the right to place the refreshment posts along the route in the most suitable places and as close as possible to the kilometre points indicated above.
Article 13.- PENALTIES
The following behaviours by participants will result in penalties and may include disqualification from the race.
- Failure to assist another person.
- Withdrawal without notifying the organisation at the time of withdrawal.
- Unsportsmanlike conduct towards other participants or the organisation.
- Disobedience of the orders of the race direction, commissaires, refreshment posts, doctors or nurses or competent authorities.
- Lack of mandatory equipment or refusal to carry out a material inspection.
- Missing a roadblock.
- Voluntarily littering outside the areas provided at the refreshment posts or any type of behaviour that may alter the natural environment.
Article 14.- DATA PROTECTION
Pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of EU Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the Protection of Individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation, hereinafter GDPR) we inform you that personal data derived from registration, payment and participation in events, including in some cases image and voice, will be processed by DG Eventos, SL with the following scope:
Treatment: (I) Management of registrations, (II) Dissemination of events, (III) Sending of promotional Newsletter.
Purpose: (I) Handling the registration procedures, as well as sending information about the event, (II) Dissemination and exploitation of the events for the whole world by means of photographs, films, television, radio, video, Internet and any other media, (III) Promotion of future events to participants in previous editions, sale of souvenirs.
Legitimising Basis: (I) Provision of a service (Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR), (II) Consent of the Data Subject (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR), and Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR), (III) Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
Recipients and Data Processors: (I) Sportmaniacs (https://sportmaniacs.com/) and RockTheSport (https://web.rockthesport.com/es) as providers of the registration engine, and https://www.ymlp.com/es/ for sending informative mailings, both as Data Processors, (II) physical and digital media, Social Networks such as Facebook, Instagram, etc, as recipients, (III) https://www.ymlp.com/es/ as Data Processor for sending the Newsletter.
Storege period: (I) Two years after the event is held (II) Indefinitely, since any publication on the Internet or social networks is beyond the control of the data subject and even of the person responsible for the publication. (III) Until the data subject unsubscribes from any of the communications he/she receives.
Exercise of rights: You can exercise your rights by sending an email to info@dgeventos.com attaching some information that allows us to prove your identity. If you do not wish to appear in our videos or publications on the internet or social media we ask that you indicate this to our photographers at the time the images are taken, as once the publication has been made on the DG Events internet, you lose control over the content.

Article 15.- DECLARATION BY THE PARTICIPANTS
By paying the TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de Las Nieves 2023 registration fee, each participant declares under his/her own responsibility:
NOT suffer from acquired or congenital physical conditions, and/or injuries that could cause disorders in their health or living conditions, as a consequence of my participation in TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de Las Nieves 2023.
Have completed the relevant medical check-ups, be medically fit and adequately trained for the activities that will take place in TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de Las Nieves 2023.
Commit to collaborate and comply with the instructions received (organisers, Local Police, Civil Protection, volunteers, judges, etc.), to guarantee the safety of all participants and the smooth running of the race.
Declares to carry out the activities related to TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de Las Nieves 2023. of his own free will, at his own exclusive risk and assumes sole responsibility for his activities, property, health and physical and/or psychological integrity, excluding any civil and/or criminal liability and expressly waiving any claim to the organizer and/or sponsors and/or institutions, both public and private, participating in the organization TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de Las Nieves 2023, with respect to any damage, including but not limited to physical, moral, material, theft, robbery, loss or any other kind of damage that may be suffered or caused to my person or property before, during or after the activity related to the TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de Las Nieves 2023, even if the damage may arise from negligence or fault on the part of the aforementioned.
Article 16.- ACCEPTANCE OF THE REGULATIONS
All participants, by registering, accept these rules and the disclaimer included in the participants' declaration (article 16 of these rules). In case of doubt or if any situation arises that is not reflected in these rules, the organising company will be in charge.
Article 17.- CANCELLATION FOR FORCE MAJEURE
In case of suspension or postponement of the event due to force majeure (adverse weather conditions, flood, earthquake, explosion, accident, labour conflict or strike, civil conflict, decision of the competent authority, etc.), the amount paid for registration will not be refunded, nor will any compensation be paid.
